Day 00

Hi y’all!

[Or hi empty, crickets chirping, internet room]

So this is my weight loss tumblr. I feel like [hopefully] the ritual of having to write on this every day will keep me honest and motivated. And [obviously] while I have wanted to do this for some time, I have to give credit to a Mr. Philip DeFranco. You can find his really awesome channels [sxephil and PhilipDeFranco] on youtube. His own weight loss vloggity, humorously titled “Project Lose and Olsen Twin” has inspired me to push for this and to really give it an honest effort. And while I do not need to “lose an Olsen Twin” [roughly 65lbs according to PhillyD] I’d ideally like to lose 30-35 lbs. More than that though, I want to instill a healthier lifestyle. I have watched my mother struggle with weight and consequent health issues and I don’t want to have the same problems later down the road. If I can learn to eat healthy and exercise now, I will have fewer problems trying to fix bad habits when I am in my 50’s. They say it takes 28 days to make or break a habit, so hopefully after 28 days, this shall become like breathing or brushing my teeth and less like a chore. I am going to try and blog every day to try and keep myself on track. If anyone does end up reading this, feel free to do it with me or tune in to PhillyD’s channel and check out what he’s up to. I’ll be posting recipes, the healthy foods plans that I am going to be using [a combination of Alton Brown’s healthy food plan, vegan ideas, organic foods + common sense] as well as critiques of the various forms of exercise that I will be trying out. If you have suggestions, let me know, and I’d love to hear about your own progress. Thanks for tuning in :)
